James Harr
A Multi-discplinary designer with a focus in intuitive systems engineering.
My history with design starts with a focus in building effective brand identities and web design. At age 17 was hired by a multi-million dollar general contracting company to do a complete brand overhaul with marketing materials and site redesign. (2011, Good & Roberts Inc.) For the next couple years i did small jobs doing identity development for start ups in southern California.
At age 20 i decided to pursue Fashion Design, and was granted the Dean's Scholarship at Parsons the New School for Design. After a year at Parsons my focus shifted from fashion to an emerging field called Integrated Design whereby students can utilize design thinking and entrepreneurship to develop products or services in relevant mediums. In this major i designed and built innovative indoor farming systems that i have since donated to a non-profit in Harlem teaching children about nutrition and sustainability.
Since moving to New York i have been apart of 4 different start up teams, (Token, Dhomain, Werk.place, Prodeus) where my primary focus has been building powerful and intuitive user interfaces. My second degree in political and economic theory, with focuses in behavioral economics, help me to develop habit-forming products and to articulate a product/service potential vis-a-vis market trends.
